Juanra Fernández was passionate about life, a tireless cultural manager, mentor of young talents, lover of poetry and salsa, and a fervent defender of social justice. With his life partner, Harvey, he founded the Nuyorican Café in 2001, an urban refuge that vibrated with the energy of emerging artists, consecrated Fgures and dreamers from all corners of Puerto Rico.

For more than 15 years, the café was the birthplace of musical projects such as the Comborican Jam Band, and a showcase for artists such as Pirulo, Willito Otero and Kalani Trinidad. Fernández, more than a producer, was a sower of the future.
