Atlanta music lovers are invited to an unforgettable evening honoring the legendary Roy Ayers, the pioneering jazz-funk vibraphonist, composer, and producer whose music became a cornerstone of Black culture. Dubbed the “Godfather of Neo-Soul,” Ayers’ genre-defying artistry has influenced generations of artists, from Erykah Badu and The Roots to A Tribe Called Quest and Common.

From Harlem dancefloors to London airwaves, and sampled across 90s hip hop classics, Roy Ayers’ music continues to inspire a movement rooted in rhythm, liberation, and Black excellence.

Musical Direction by Mark Adams

Ayers’ longtime keyboardist and musical director, Mark Adams, brings over 20 years of experience touring with the legend. Adams has also worked with icons including Roberta Flack, Lonnie Liston Smith, Ronnie Laws, and Maysa, delivering soulful keys and masterful arrangements that will make this tribute truly unforgettable.

The performance features original members of the Roy Ayers band alongside standout Atlanta musicians who have shared stages with the legend himself. Hosted by WCLK’s Morris Baxter with DJ Rev Lee, this is a night that promises both celebration and history.
