Singer/Songwriter Nicki Richards has selected City Winery NYC as the place to be to celebrate the long-awaited release of her fourth album. The 8-song “Love Life” covers a broad aural swath from New Orleans funk and swampy folk-rock to introspective watercolor balladry and richly emotive acoustic jazz. She even has a surprise Joni Mitchell cover. The lady is calling in many of the fine musicians who blessed her album to reanimate the music live, including drummer Lenny White, bassist Christian McBride and pianist Cyrus Chestnut for the jazzy pieces as well as Musical Director Ray Chew and the chameleonic Steve Jordan on drums for the funky stuff – with more A-list musicians to be announced! Nicki’s performance promises to be as intimately transportive as it is downright soul-shaking, dazzlingly showcasing her deep wellspring of purposed and personal artistry.
