The Frequency is a monthly gathering curated by DJ Lady D and Collaboraction that explores culture, creativity, wellness, and social change through inspiring conversations, music, and embodied experiences. Designed to foster belonging and collective imagination, each event invites audiences to connect, reflect, and envision more equitable futures together.
This month, Lady D and special guest Leslé Honoré share how we can use art to record, witness and connect through poetry and social media. Participants will both engage in listening to a traditional poetry reading focusing on current events and also be led in a writing exercise to build their own artistic tool belt.
Honoré is a Blaxican poet, activist, and author. Her first children’s book, “Brown Girl, Brown Girl” based on her viral poem about Vice President Kamala Harris, was released in November of 2024, followed by “My Brown Boy” in January 2026. Her forthcoming book, “If You Raise Free Daughters,” based on her poem that was recited by Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, is set for release in 2027.
