Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson is a classic swing saxophonist known for his big sound and charm. He began playing at 14, studying under jazz greats like Frank Wess and Sonny Stitt, and later with Alvin Batiste at Southern University. In 1988, he joined Wynton Marsalis’ Septet, touring and recording for 20 years, and played with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra from 1992 to 2006. Anderson has released four solo albums and frequently supports Jazz at Lincoln Center’s educational programs. He has also taught at Juilliard and Michigan State University.

Joining him tonight is Ed Perkins, a veteran jazz singer and New Orleans native. With a career spanning over 50 years, Ed has performed globally with artists like Alvin Batiste and Wess Anderson. His credits include Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and major festivals like Zulu Lundi Gras and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
